UPDATE: Portion of I-59 in Dade County reopens following deadly semi crash
UPDATE: The Dade County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a tractor-trailer that crash on I-59 on Wednesday has passed away.
The crash happened around mile marker in Rising Fawn and only involved the semi.
DCSO spokesperson Sgt. Chad Payne says the tractor-trailer turned over and caught fire.
Sgt. Payne says the driver of the semi died as a result of the crash.
The crash originally shut down both the north and southbound sides of the interstate.
Sgt. Payne says the southbound lanes and one northbound lane have reopened.
The name of the driver has not been released.
