UPDATE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation posted a tweet Friday morning to alert the public that a man indicted for a 2012 homicide has been captured.

Justin Thurman is in custody in Hamilton County after being added to the TBI's Most Wanted list Thursday and surrendered to police. 

Thurman is suspected of murdering Leslie Townsend in a parked car off E. 14th Street in Chattanooga on October 8, 2012.

 


PREVIOUS STORY: A Chattanooga man has been indicted by a grand jury for a 2012 homicide of a man.

Twenty-nine-year-old Justin Thurman is suspected of murdering Leslie Townsend in a parked car off E. 14th Street in Chattanooga on October 8, 2012.

After an investigation, the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office Cold Case Unit determined that there was enough evidence to link Thurman to Townsend's murder.

The Hamilton County Grand Jury issued the indictment yesterday, charging Thurman with First Degree Felony Murder and Attempted Especially Aggravated Robbery.

Officers with the fugitive division of the Chattanooga Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are searching for Thurman.
