UPDATE: A SUV turned in front of a motorcycle on Lee Highway Tuesday morning, fatally injuring a motorcyclist.

Chattanooga police say a GMC Acadia driven by Gary A. Moore, 68, was traveling south on Lee Highway and merged into the center lane to turn left onto Walker Road.

That's when the motorcycle struck the right front of the SUV. The rider was transported to a local hospital, where police say he succumbed to his injuries.

Moore was issued a citation in lieu of arrest for the charge, Failure to Yield Right of Way (Accident Resulting in the Death of Another).

The name of the motorcycle rider has not yet been released pending the notification of family.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police are investigating a deadly crash Tuesday morning that involved a motorcycle.

The crash happened about 9:00am in the 7500 of Lee Highway, at Tyner road, south of Bonny Oaks Drive.

It's not yet clear exactly what happened as investigators continue their work to gather information and evidence.
