PREVIOUS STORY: Investigators are trying to identify a woman's body found in Tunnel Hill over the weekend.

The Catoosa County Sheriff told Channel 3 over the weekend a passerby discovered the body along McGill Lane.

Through the rolling hills of farm land, is a one mile stretch of McGill Lane.

People like Amy Fillace use it to get around Tunnel Hill.

"People use it to cut through. I know my son rides the bus home. That's the way they go and sometimes we'll go that way too," she said.

With high grass and little to no shoulder, McGill isn't the safest road to walk along, but Fillace said it's not unheard of.

"Sometimes you'll see a couple of the teens walking, but for the most part, no," she added.

Saturday, Fillace said, police blocked the road off leaving her family to wonder why.

"We noticed that there was a police car blocking the road over there. They were there for a very long time. My daughter kept on going to the window just to check to see if they were still there," she said.

Documents show someone under the age of 18 called 911 saying he thought he saw a body in a ditch.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office, it was the body of a woman, who is possibly in her late 20s or early 30s. The woman is around 5'5" tall, around 120-130 pounds with brown hair that was dyed blonde.

Investigators don't know who she is, how she died or why she ended up there.

On Sunday, Fillace said, investigators were back out on McGill Lane looking for more clues.

"We noticed that there were several officers going through the grass, just kind of searching to see and we didn't know at the time what was going on," she added.

Fillace hopes detectives will be able to answer those questions soon, for peace of mind and for the woman's family.

A medical examiner will determine how the woman died.
