Two women were arrested and charged after a search warrant was executed Friday in the Lewis Chapel area of Sequatchie County.

The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department, Dunlap Police Department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation-Drug Unit conducted a joint search warrant at a home on Snyder Loop.

There, they found two women and two small children in the home.

During their search, law enforcement officers seized heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, according to Sequatchie County Sheriff Coy Swanger. Also seized were several hundreds of dollars.

The women were identified as 30-year-old Tabitha Boyle and 51-year-old Teresa Harvey. Boyle was identified as the mother of the two children who were placed in the custody of the Department of Children Services and taken to a safe location, according to Swanger.

The investigation is still ongoing; additional charges and arrests are pending. Swanger said in a new release that his "...officers have worked very diligently with other departments during this investigation. He makes it a number one priority to take drugs off the streets and out of homes where children reside making Sequatchie County a safer place for everyone.”
