Ooltewah Owls looking to "get old" quickly as regular season approaches
Kyrell Sanford and Sincere Quinn were the driving force that led Ooltewah to a nine-win season in 2018. For a lot of high school football programs, graduation comes fast.
The Owls do have leadership coming back in key areas. Four starters return on the offensive line. Senior quarterback Lane Moore has been patiently awaiting his opportunity to shine and lead this team.
The pressure falls on the young players on this year's squad. Head coach Scott Chandler describes their practices as teaching them slowly, but at a fast pace.
The Owls will be tested as a fast pace with their first two opponents.
They open up the 2019 regular season on the road at David Crockett this Friday, August 23rd. Then they welcome Red Bank to Ooltewah the following Friday. Two teams with a combined 23-2 record in 2018.
