U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn visits Chattanooga, talks healthcare
U.S Senator Marsha Blackburn said she's working to improve healthcare for people in rural communities.
On Thursday, Sen. Blackburn made a stop in the Scenic City to visit the staff at Encompass Health Rehab Hospital.
She's put together a collection of bills designed to improve healthcare.
Sen. Blackburn said these pieces of legislation would get more health professionals and technology into rural areas.
She said one of the bills would give communities grants to open an emergency care clinic.
"We're working on building bipartisan support for those components so we can do our part to help solve this issue of getting access to affordable health care in rural Tennessee," Blackburn said.
She said those bills have been filed.
Now, they will head to the Senate Health Committee.
