Good Tuesday. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for much of the Tennessee Valley until 8 pm tonight. Temps are expected to soar to the mid to upper 90s this afternoon with heat index values greater than 105 degrees. This is very dangerous and heat-related illnesses can quickly impact you. Limit the outdoor time today, and if you are outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade, and drink LOTS of water.

Tonight after 7pm we will have a line of strong storms moving through. There is a slight chance of some storms producing damaging winds so we may get some downed trees and power outages tonight. Be prepared.

Following the storms, we will see cooler and drier air moving in with highs near 90 and lower humidity Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday through the weekend temps will creep back into the low to mid-90s with the rain still holding off.
