UPDATE: Kitchen fire damages Dayton Sonic, no injuries reported
UPDATE: Assistant Fire Chief Adam McRorie tells Channel 3 that the fire started about 6:37am in the restaurant's fryer area.
The flames and smoke were contained to deep fryer area, but luckily, there were no injuries.
It's unlikely that the restaurant will be open Wednesday.
PREVIOUS STORY: Firefighters are battling a Wednesday morning blaze at a Dayton fast food restaurant.
The fire started in the kitchen and was extinguished at the Sonic on U.S. 27.
Everyone in the restaurant is safe, officials tell Channel 3.
There's currently no word on the amount of damage the restaurant sustained.
