UPDATE: TBI identifies human remains found behind grocery story
UPDATE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the male body found behind the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Etowah earlier this month as 46-year-old Eduardo Lopez Castillo.
The TBI says they have not yet determined the cause and manner of death.
PREVIOUS STORY: Rebecca Ellis is hoping that once the autopsy of the human remains found near her home Monday evening is finished that it provides some answers as to what happened.
Ellis lives just on the other side of the woods from where the human remains were found. She said she hopes the TBI will share the circumstance's of the person's death so it can give the community some peace of mind.
"Well I was just very shocked, I never expected that right here in my backyard really," said Ellis.
The remains were found closer to the Piggly Wiggly and the Family Dollar on Monday evening. She said it's surprising that no one noticed anything earlier.
"Just because there are so many people there all the time and even late at night those trucks are there loading and unloading, and just so many people around," said Ellis.
She said Etowah is a small town, and no one she knows is missing.
"I sure don't, I basically know everyone and I have very good neighbors and we know everybody. It's just hard to believe," said Ellis.
Since it's in such close proximity to her home, the lack of information given by authorities has made her and her neighbors uneasy.
"I hope they get it done soon, so we can just have some peace of mind or maybe who it is or how it did happen," said Ellis. "It's kind of scary, really, you just don't know what's going on right in your back door, you know."
A spokesperson for the TBI said that an autopsy will be performed later this week and hopefully will provide more answers.
