August is National Immunization Awareness month
Doctors are reminding adults that vaccines are not just for children.
The message comes as part of national immunization awareness month, which is observed every august.
The American College of Physicians says vaccines are safe and protects against serious illnesses like the flu, measles, and pneumonia.
Vaccines are especially important for older adults, and those with compromised immune systems.
Besides the flu vaccine, other important immunizations for adults include t-dap, pneumococcal, HPV, hepatitis B, and the Shingles vaccine.
