UPDATE: A man accused of domestic assault was found on Tuesday along with a woman who police say is one of his victims.

Rossville police have been looking for Patrick William Byrd for more than a week.

Rossville Detective Dave Scroggins says he is glad to get Byrd off the streets.

"He is known to law enforcement around here as an abusive individual,” Detective Scroggins said.

Byrd had warrants for his arrest from multiple agencies and police say the woman with Byrd was in a dangerous situation.

Police say the young woman is pregnant and had several bruises.

“She had been assaulted yet again while she was with Mr. Byrd. So, this is a continuing pattern of abuse,” Scroggins said.

Byrd is charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery.

Scroggins says he's seen too many cases of domestic violence. He urges victims to reach out for help, saying it's always available and they can get out safely.

"Every day we see people who, for whatever reason and I've never understood it, go back into a really bad place. Don't go back. We offer them the resources we have available; the women's shelter, counseling, medical assistance, but still they go back,” Scroggins said.

The young woman is with her mother and is getting medical attention.

Byrd is still in police custody with more charges pending.
