Mocs open up fall camp under first-year head coach Rusty Wright
Rusty Wright is no stranger to fall camp in Chattanooga. He's experienced it as a player and assistant coach, but 2019 will mark his first as a head coach.
We got our first glimpse of the 2019 Chattanooga football Mocs on Wednesday as they opened up camp at Finley Stadium.
They're still installing the new turf at Scrappy Moore Field which usually serves as the Mocs practice field. So, they'll use Finley for the first week before hopefully returning to their usual practice confines next Wednesday, August 7th.
There's a lot of new faces on both the coaching staff, and the roster as Wright opens up his first camp. He says they're taking things back to the basics to ensure everyone is on the same page during the first week of practice.
Mother Nature had other plans for the Mocs first practice as storms rolled through Chattanooga this afternoon. The Mocs were forced to do their walk through first and then come back to Finley at 8 p.m. for their normal practice.
Chattanooga opens up the 2019 regular season at Finley Stadium on Thursday, August 29th against Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m.
