Runner wins track meet as she runs into mom's arms in special reunion
Captain Erika Woods, who is stationed in Alaska, hadn't seen her 13-year-old daughter, Jada, in nearly six months. So she flew in to surprise the middle schooler at her championship track meet in California.
Captain Woods was at the finish lines with arms open wide as Jada brought her relay team to a first-place finish. The tearful reunion capped off a strong victory on the track.
It's been difficult for the 13-year old as her mom has not been able to attend any of Jada's track meets so far.
