UPDATE: Name of person hit and killed on I-75 released
UPDATE: Chattanooga Police have released the name of the person hit last night on Interstate 75 near the Bonny Oaks exit.
Dyla Francois, 26, was riding in a Honda CRV that was going south in the center lane of I-75. While the Honda was moving, Francois got out of the SUV and was hit by another vehicle and died at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate this accident.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police say a person has been killed after being hit on I-75 southbound near the Bonny Oaks exit Thursday night.
CPD Sergeant Justin Kilgore says officers were called to the scene around 9:08 p.m. where the victim was lying deceased in the roadway.
Sgt. Kilgore says two vehicles were involved in the incident. Investigators are trying to determine whether the person jumped or fell out of a vehicle.
Investigators suspect that the person was hit and killed by an 18 wheeler.
Sgt. Kilgore says they are currently searching for that other vehicle and that the driver may or may not know if they hit someone.
The name of the victim has not been released.
