Good Morning Tennessee Valley,

Showers will be hit and miss this morning. Due to clouds, temperatures will stay below normal in the mid to upper 80s. Storms will be increasing after 5PM today. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather, where storms could produce damaging wind gusts. Areas in the Marginal Risk include Dalton, Blue Ridge, and the Tennessee counties. Storms could also produce brief high rainfall rates. Rainfall amounts of 0.50" to 1" are likely where storms develop. There is a chance, a few storms could become stationary. If this occurs later today, 1" to 2" could fall, leading to localized flooding.

Storms look to increase to Chattanooga by 7PM-9PM. This line will be weakening with time, and therefore expect those west of I-75 with the greatest risk for any wind damage.

A few showers will linger on Tuesday morning over north Georgia, Cherokee and Monroe counties as the cold front moves through. By 6AM-8AM this front should clear, bringing a northwest breeze.

Look for broken clouds Tuesday morning, with increasing sunshine. Dew points will be dropping tomorrow, making it a fabulous start to Wednesday. The middle of the week looks fantastic for late July with sunshine, low humidity, with temperatures in the low 80s!
