Operation Southern Shield aims to slow down drivers in southeast
Drivers can expect to see more law enforcement officers on the road Monday.
"Operation Southern Shield" focuses on slowing down drivers during the heavy summer travel season, when the rate of fatal crashes is highest.
It kicks off Monday, July 15 and runs until July 21.
Tennessee is just one of many states involved in the operation, including Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office will join several agencies for a press event at the I-75 Welcome Center in Chattanooga Monday.
