Members of the local NAACP chapter held a press conference on Saturday regarding an arrest that's led to the investigation of two Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies for possible use of excessive force.

The man arrested, James Myron Mitchell, his family and attorney Robin Flores were at the press conference.

Mitchell was arrested on Wednesday, July 10, by Deputy Daniel Wilkey and Deputy Bobby Brewer.

Sheriff Jim Hammond and District Attorney General Neal Pinkston held a press conference Friday morning to announce the launch of their investigations into Mitchell's arrest.

Both deputies are on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Mitchell's attorney, Robin Flores, says all charges against Mitchell from the arrest have been dropped.
