Amazon to build fulfillment center in metro Atlanta, creating 1,000 jobs
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — It's not HQ2, but Amazon is coming to metro Atlanta.
Governor Brian Kemp announced Wednesday that Amazon will open a new fulfillment center in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties, creating 1,000 new jobs.
Amazon will lease a built-to-suit building and cover acreage in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties. Employees at the approximately 700,000 square foot facility will pick, pack and ship customer orders, according to a news release.
In addition, Amazon will hire for roles in human resources, operations management, safety, security, finance, and information technology.
