The U.S. women's national soccer team has won the 2019 Women's World Cup, defeating the Netherlands.

The team won 2-0 on Sunday in the championship match held in Lyon, France. The first half was scoreless, with co-captain Megan Rapinoe scoring the first goal of the game with a penalty kick. Midfielder Rose Lavelle scored the second goal.

The win marks the team's fourth world title. The team also won in 1991, 1999, and 2015.

Chattanoogans gathered at local restaurants and bars to watch the game.

Chattanooga Brewing Company on Chestnut Street was packed with fans. The crowd erupted in applause when the U.S. women won.

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke responded to the win by inviting the team back to Chattanooga after a local business tweeted about their visit to Chattanooga in 2015.
