UPDATE: One teen dead following double shooting on E 49th St.
UPDATE: Chattanooga Police have just confirmed that one of two victims involved in a double shooting on East 49th Street is now dead.
The call about the shooting came in around 3:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.
According to a release sent out by the department, the 16-year-old boy was dead when officers arrived on the scene. The 19-year-old shot is still in the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
Investigators with the department have arrested two teen suspects--a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old. Both suspects are being charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide (x5), and auto theft.
Additionally, the 14-year-old is being charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Investigators believe that the suspects arrived in a stolen vehicle and opened fire on the home, which contained 5 people.
They're currently being held in the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
ORIGINAL STORY: Officers were called to 1419 E. 49th Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
A spokesperson for the department tells Channel 3 that two people were shot.
CPD's major crimes division is on the scene and expected to released additional information shortly.
Channel 3 has a crew headed to the scene.
