Erlanger treats 8 people for July 4th-related injuries
Erlanger's Emergency Department didn't take the holiday off, treating eight patients on July 4th with injuries that were related to Independence Day activities.
Two of those patients were treated at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.
Most of the injuries were caused by fireworks and included burns and abrasions to hands and eyes, according to Erlanger's Jennifer Tittsworth.
The 2019 injuries were up slightly from the previous year, where no children were treated.
2019 – 6 adults and 2 children
2018 – 6 adults and no children
2017 – 3 adults and 1 child
2016 – 11 patients
2015 – 8 patients
