A home in East Ridge was severely damaged by fire Friday morning.

An East Ridge Fire official posted Facebook that the call came in after 12:30 a.m. of a house fire on Close Road.

One person was still reported to be inside the house. By the time firefighters got there, everyone had made it safely out, and moke and fire were seen coming out of the house. 

Firefighters put out the blaze that had extended into the attic.  

The Red Cross was called in to help the family. 

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is unknown. 

Damage is estimated at $30,000.
