Two men arrested for trafficking heroin
Two men were arrested and charged with possession of heroin in a joint operation between the Dunlap Police Department, the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department, the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force (DTF) and TBI Drug Investigation Division.
The Monday arrests resulted in Bradley Keith Smith, 21; and Jason Lee Smith, 45.
The first search of Bradley Smith's Valley View Garden Apartments home yielded over one-half gram of heroin packaged for resale and two loaded handguns, according to police. He was charged with possession of heroin for resale and transported to the Sequatchie County Jail.
Officers then searched the residence of Jason Smith on Bradley Drive in Dunlap. There, officers found approximately 3 grams of heroin packaged for resale and two loaded handguns at that residence. Smith was also charged with possession of heroin for resale and transported to the Sequatchie County Jail.
Tuesday, officers then arrested two 17-year-old male juveniles for attempting to purchase heroin. One of the juveniles was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
Both Smiths had a bond hearing in Sequatchie County General Sessions Court July 3rd, where a judge bond was denied. Their next appearance date is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17th.
