UPDATE: Severe storms possible Monday night
UPDATE: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is up for Tennessee and North Carolina until 9 PM EDT tonight. Strong showers and storms could turn severe with damaging winds and large hail. There will be a chance some of these storms could move into north Georgia, too. Pay attention to the weather situation developing this afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Tennessee Valley under a Slight Risk for severe weather today for a 15% probability for damaging winds and a 5% probability for large hail. At this time, there is not a risk for a tornado.
Tuesday will continue the trend of warm humid weather. Highs should be in the upper 80's with a west wind to 12 mph. Skies will be partly cloudy. Tuesday night will be fair and mild with a low in the upper 60's. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs near 90. Thursday will be partly cloudy with highs near 90. Friday will see very little change.
This weekend will have a small chance for a few isolated showers and this trend will continue into Monday. Highs will be in the upper 80's to near 90 with lows in the low 70's.
