Lookouts take first series of second half despite Pat Kelly's ejection
The Chattanooga Lookouts won 5-2 against the Birmingham Barons on the back of starting pitcher Johendi Jiminian. Jiminian delivered a quality start, only allowing one earned run in 6.1 innings of work. The right-hander now has a 3.15 ERA on the year in 14 games (eight starts).
Birmingham struck in the first on a Ti'Quan Forbes sacrifice fly, the home team answered on an Ibandel Isabel RBI single. Chattanooga opened it up in the bottom of the third on RBI singles by Isabel and Jose Siri. They added one more on a bases loaded walk. They added their fifth and final run of the day on a T.J. Friedl homer.
In the sixth inning Jesse Stallings came in for Jiminian and delivered two shutout innings. Ty Boyles came on in the ninth and nailed down his second save of the year.
Tomorrow, the Lookouts send lefty Scott Moss to the game against fellow southpaw John Parke. Game time is set at 7:15 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
