NEW DETAILS: The affidavit connected to the shooting on Coleman Road Friday states that Veronica Pitts was shot three times, once each in the head, arm, and side.

A witness told deputies that around 7 o'clock Friday morning, Pitts began banging on his front door asking for him to call 911, that she'd been shot.

When Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies arrived, Pitts told them that Tommy Couch Sr shot her while she was sleeping.  The deputies went to the home on Coleman Road and saw Couch coming out of the house.

He was taken into custody for questioning. He admitted to shooting Pitts following an argument they'd had the night before about her contributions to the household.

Couch also told detectives that Pitts had repeatedly threatened to kill his son, with whom she is in a relationship, and his daughter, if he did not continue to give her money, car, and other items.  He said he shot Pitts with a .22 revolver and that he hid it in an abandoned car on his property.  Deputies found the gun.

Couch Sr is due in court on July 1st.  He is being housed on a $350,000 bond.
