WUTC, the public radio arm of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is selling off some 15,000 music CDs as a fundraiser.

Remember CDs?

“Our entire library has been digitized, so we still have all the great music our listeners have grown to love,” says WUTC Station Manager Bryan Lane. “We would just like to personally share it with them and use their donations to bring even more growth to the radio station.”

The CDs run the gamut of music, including classic and modern rock, jazz, reggae, blues, world music and virtually anything else. There’s also a large selection of specialty box sets.

The sale runs Friday, June 21, through Sunday, June 23, with all of the station’s CDs on sale.

The sale will use a 'progressive' discount; on Friday all single CD’s are $3. Saturday they drop to $2 and then, at 2:00 on Saturday, what is left will drop in price down to $1.

Many of the CDs are out-of-print and difficult to find elsewhere.

The sale takes place on UTC’s campus in Cadek Hall on Oak Street. Hours are:

  • 3-8pm Friday, June 21
  • 10am -2 p.m. Saturday, June 22
  • 2-5pm Sunday, June 23
