On Saturday, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will host its inaugural Fishing with a Deputy at Chester Frost Park.

The event is free and open to children from the community. 

Officials say the event is designed to build positive relationships with children in the community. 

Rod and reels will be provided to the first 250 children who register. 

Fishing League Worldwide Pro Fisherman Buddy Gross will be at the event to sign autographs and give a presentation. 

The event will take place rain or shine. 

A fishing license is not required because of TWRA's designated annual Free Fishing Saturday. 

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
