Man convicted in 1988 Signal Mtn. murders dies
According to Tennessee's felony offender website, the man convicted in the 1988 Signal Mountain murders has died. Frank Casteel, 71-year-old, is listed as deceased on the website.
He shot and killed three ATV riders on his property in 1988. The bodies of Ken Griffith, Richard Mason and Earl Smock were found in Marion County.
At the time of the crime, the complaint affidavit stated at least two of the three men killed suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
One victim sustaining multiple bullets to the head.
He was set to be eligible for parole in 2025.
