UPDATE: Driver in fatal Ringgold crash identified
UPDATE: The driver in Sunday's deadly crash that claimed the driver's life has been identified by the Georgia State Patrol.
Noland A. Stover, 61, was driving his white 1998 Toyota Corolla north on Cherokee Valley Road.
The GSP says Stover lost control, going off the road onto the east shoulder. There, the vehicle's undercarriage struck a culvert, overturned and then struck a utility pole.
PREVIOUS STORY: Georgia State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle accident in Catoosa County.
It happened in the 2400 block of Cherokee Valley Road in Ringgold.
The call came into dispatch around 5:45 p.m Sunday.
A Georgia State Patrol deputy tells us the male inside the vehicle died as a result of the crash.
No word yet, on exactly what caused the crash, but GSP says it appears the car never hit the brakes before crashing into a utility pole.
The name of the victim has not been released until family has been notified.
