Chattanooga FC never shies away from pitting themselves against the best of the best. For example, Guatemalan powerhouse Comunicaciones FC visited Fort Finley earlier this season for an international friendly. The boys in blue would be up against their toughest foe in club history on Saturday, May 25th.

Real Betis from Spain's La Liga visited the Scenic City for an international friendly with CFC. Los Betis became the first team in over 15 years to defeat Barcelona and Real Madrid on the road in the same season. They also defeated D.C. United from the MLS on Wednesday evening 5-2.

The opportunity to play such an elite club must have motivated Chattanooga's Football Club as they took their game to another level in front of over 6,000 fans at Finley Stadium.

Leading 1-0 for much of the first half, Real Betis would net a goal in stoppage time to even the score heading into halftime.

Real Betis would net three more goals in the second half, but CFC almost made a comeback, competing with the Spanish power until the final whistle.

Real Betis would get the 4-3 victory, but it was without a doubt a remarkable showing from the boy's in blue.

CFC will return to their NPSL schedule next Saturday, June 1st when Georgia Revolution comes to Fort Finley for a 7:30 p.m. match.
