Chattanooga man faces attempted murder charge for stabbing woman
A Chattanooga man is facing an attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing a woman. It happened on little after 10 on May 22 on Boynton Drive.
When Chattanooga Police arrived Bernard Smith had locked himself and the female inside the bathroom. Police kicked down the door and found both parties in the bathroom with the female bleeding profusely.
She was taken to the hospital with seven stab wounds to her upper torso. She told police that when she came home she found him in her home. They had dated for six years, but he had been arrested for assaulting her and wasn't supposed to be there.
She said Smith kept saying he was going to kill her.
Smith is in the Hamilton County Jail on a $260,000 bond.
