If your child is moving to the 5th through 8th grade, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is holding a four-week academic enrichment program this summer.

The STEAM Summer Camp prepares students to excel in science, technology, engineering, art, and math disciplines. Camp begins Monday, June 3 and runs through Thursday, June 27.

Campers will be involved with space exploration activities, experiment with coding, conduct research using technology, use programming to find creative approaches, organize problems using math and science skills and increase their awareness of STEAM career opportunities. The program also includes weekly field trips, cooking classes, yoga, African dance lessons, a soccer tournament, and guitar lessons. The program concludes with a Family Fun Day, where students can display camp projects for their families to enjoy.

STEAM Summer Camp also includes Parent Empowerment Sessions that include Tips for Student Success, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Finance and Credit Recovery. Prospective families may attend a Parent Orientation session scheduled for Friday, May 24.

Space is limited. For more information, visit http://www.ulchatt.net/ or contact Dr. Carlene Nord at (423) 756-1762 or cnord@ulchatt.net.
