Male body pulled from Tennessee River in Meigs County
The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says a body was found in the Tennessee River on Wednesday.
The discovery was made around 12:30 p.m. near the Cottonport Marina.
Sheriff Jackie Melton says the cause of death appears to be the result of an accidental drowning and no foul play is suspected.
Detectives say the male is believed to be in his late 20s.
The Sheriff says the body has been identified but the name is not being released until family members are notified.
