They're the defending champs for a reason and they have shown no indication of giving up that title.

Gordon Lee hosted Seminole County Wednesday evening for the GHSA Class-A Public quarterfinals. The Trojans swept Jenkins Co. last week at home to advance.

In game one the Trojans found themselves in rare territory, playing from behind. The Indians entered the bottom of the fifth with a 4-2 lead. They would like to forget what followed.

A Chris Potter home run and seven run 6th inning led Gordon Lee to an 11-4 victory.

Game two was the Jake Poindexter show again. The sophomore struck out 15 in game two against Jenkins Co. last week and followed with yet another dominant pitching performance.

He pitched four innings of one-hit baseball. Cade Peterson homered and Potter hit his second of the day as the Trojans handled Seminole Co. 15-0 in six innings for the sweep.

Gordon Lee moves on to the semifinals and will play the winner of Clinch County and Bowdon who play a deciding game three on Thursday. The Trojans are four wins away from repeating as state champions.
