Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing on E. 26th Street
Chattanooga police say a woman was arrested for stabbing a man and then lying to officers about her name on Tuesday.
According to the police report, 26-year-old Gwendolyn R. Calloway is charged with attempted second-degree murder and criminal impersonation.
The report says an argument between Calloway and the victim led to the stabbing on E. 26th Street.
The report says the victim initially told police at the hospital that he fell on a knife, but later admitted Calloway stabbed him.
The report says Calloway lied to officers about her name “over a half dozen times.”
The report says officers were finally able to identify Calloway by using the victim’s information.
Calloway was booked at the Hamilton County Jail on a $155,000 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on May 17.
The victim’s current condition is unknown.
