Chattanooga Police respond to large number of auto thefts in April
In April Chattanooga Police responded to almost 60 auto thefts and they want to remind you of a few tips to keep your items safe.
They suggest you never leave your phone, wallet, computer or car keys in the car, this becomes a crime of opportunity.
Police say if you must leave something of value in the car, then hide it from plain sight. Be sure to lock your car doors, even if you think you live in a quiet neighborhood.
This number from April is alarming because that's about 2 auto thefts per day in Chattanooga. Nearly half of those vehicles from April's report had keys available to thieves.
