Three people were killed in a crash in Chattooga County Saturday night.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Highway 48 about halfway up Lookout Mountain around 10:30 pm.

A spokesperson for the Georgia State Patrol said according to their preliminary investigation, a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer was headed down the mountain when it crossed the line and struck a 2014 Toyota Sienna head-on.

After the collision, both vehicles caught fire.

The GSP spokesperson said a 16-year-old male was driving the Trailblazer. He was injured and taken to an area hospital. His condition has not been released.

A family of four was traveling in the Sienna. The driver, 41-year-old Christian Park, his wife, 35-year-old Julia Park, and their 4-year-old son were all killed.

Their 6-year-old son was pulled from the vehicle before it caught fire. He was taken to an area hospital and then transported to a children's hospital in Atlanta. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The GSP spokesperson said it is too early in their investigation to tell if the 16-year-old driver will face charges.
