Clouds will continue to slowly decrease the rest of the afternoon into the evening. They will persist the longest in Chattanooga and to the west along the Cumberland Plateau. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal and mild, staying in the low 70s until about sunset at 8:29PM EDT.

Overnight will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s. There is a meteor shower tonight with the best viewing from 4-6AM, occurring low in the ESE sky around the constellation Aquarius. If you decide to head out to view it, keep in mind there will be some scattered clouds that may interfere. The meteor potential is up to 10-20 an hour.

Monday will be a great day with highs around 80 and mostly sunny. Tuesday will have a few more clouds but still a good amount of sunshine and highs in the mid-80s.

Clouds will increase on Wednesday to mostly cloudy, and there will be a chance for a couple of isolated showers and storms later in the day. Highs will be warm again in the mid-80s

Thursday and Friday will both have showers and thunderstorms possible as a cold front moves through our area. Highs on Thursday will be in the low 80s and then upper 70s for Friday. The trend for showers looks to continue into next weekend as well.
