UPDATE: American Airlines has launched nonstop service between Chattanooga and Philadelphia.

The Chattanooga Airport said the new route includes one departure from each city every day.

The first flight to Chattanooga from Philly took off Friday night, while the first flight from Chattanooga to Philly took off Saturday morning just after 7:00 am.

“Boardings at the Chattanooga airport continue to takeoff with a record number of travelers choosing to fly local, and our airline partners play an important part in that success,” Terry Hart, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport, said. “When our airlines like American add new routes, they’re helping us increase options for our passengers and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of our region.”

Passengers will be flying on a 50-seat regional jet. The airport said since the flight departs early in the morning,  business travelers will be able to travel to Philadelphia and return home the same day.

Here is when flights to and from Philadelphia will take off:

  • PHL to CHA - Departs at 6:35 pm and arrives at 8:49 pm
  • CHA to PHL - Departs at 6:50 am and arrives at 9:03 am

With the addition of nonstop service to Philadelphia, the Chattanooga Airport now has 10 nonstop routes.
