Suspect in Sunday high-speed chase still at-large, per CPD officials
Chattanooga Police are now searching for a suspect who led CPD officers on a high-speed chase early Sunday evening.
It happened near the area of Brainerd High School around 42nd Street and Ohls Avenue just after 6:30 pm.
According to a CPD spokesperson, the suspect, now identified as 21 year-old Jaylain Ballard, was wanted on several charges including Aggravated Assault on a police officer, Reckless Endangerment, Evading Arrest, Reckless Driving and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
On Sunday, officers observed Ballard driving a gray Ford F-150 truck, recognized the description of the vehicle and attempted to stop him but he fled.
That's when the suspect led officers on the high-speed chase, eventually getting away. The responding officers called off the pursuit in the interest of safety of other drivers around with a high volume of traffic in the area.
Ballard is described as a black male driving a gray F-150 truck with commercial tags. If you see him or a vehicle matching the description be sure to call 423-698-2525.
