Rain increases Thursday evening
Clouds will stay with us today keeping temperatures in the mid to upper 70s by afternoon. We'll still be 3-5 degrees above normal for today's high, which is 75. Newest data is showing a wet evening commute by 5PM for some.
The best chance at this time will be near Marion, Franklin, Hamilton, TN, and Dekalb and Jackson, AL. Rain and a few embedded thunderstorms will be possible at this time too through 8PM. Another round of showers, which does not appear to be heavy, will move through from 11PM becoming scattered through 10AM on Friday morning. The best chance for light scattered showers tomorrow morning will be in Tennessee early. Rainfall amounts during this period for Chattanooga will range from 0.25" to 0.50". Those in Dekalb and Jackson, AL look to get locally higher amounts of 0.50" to 0.75" during this time, and closer to Dayton and Spring City could get up to 1" total.
The breeze looks to pick up this evening. Winds will be gusting from 20-25 mph for the evening commute. We'll see this again on Friday, while the winds will gust from the northwest tomorrow 20-25 mph.
Tomorrow, sunshine will be increasing by afternoon. Temperatures will only top 72 tomorrow during the day. Friday night turns cooler, down to 47. It will be chilly for walks/runs on Saturday morning. Temperatures during the day Saturday will reach 75 with only a small chance for a passing shower after 5PM. If anything reaches the ground Saturday, 0.05" or less looks possible.
