Dalton police searching for suspects in Planet Fitness car break-ins
The Dalton Police Department is working to identify two men they say broke into several vehicles parked outside a gym.
Police said the suspects broke into three vehicles at Planet Fitness on Walnut Avenue on April 12 around 9:00 pm.
The suspects were captured on surveillance video breaking out windows and stealing purses from the vehicles.
"The suspects in these three break-ins were traveling in a silver-colored SUV, possibly a Nissan, and were recorded by store surveillance using bank cards stolen from the vehicles," Dalton police said.
The stolen bank cards were used at the nearby Walnut Avenue Kroger and at a Circle K and Kroger on Glenwood Avenue, police added.
One of the suspects is described as a black male who wore a burgundy colored zipper hoodie sweatshirt. He also had on a black ball cap that police say appeared to have a Bulls logo on it.
The other suspect is also a black male. He was wearing black sweat pants and a black hoodie with a black stocking cap.
Police added that this is not the first time vehicles at the gym have been broken into.
"There have been several car break-ins in this parking lot over the past year because people using the gym often leave valuables inside of their cars instead of taking them inside," Dalton police explained.
If you have information that can help police identify these two suspects, call Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9280.
