A woman was injured and family displaced after a morning fire ripped through their home. 

Crews responded to a house fire call just before 9 o'clock at 6915 Sentinel Lane on Monday morning.

Upon arrival,  Highway 58 volunteer firefighters discovered fire hydrants 2,200 feet away from the burning home. 

In response, the VFD requested assistance from Chattanooga Fire Department and Tri-Community VFD. 

Responders used 2,200 feet of hose line to put out the fire. 

Two adults escaped the home without injury; a 66-year-old woman sustained airway burns and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

The family will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. 

The estimated cost of damage is valued at $100,000.
