Chattanooga State's Community Health Institute will be hosting its 12th Annual Community Health and Wellness Expo Friday.

The event is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Chattanooga State Health Science Center on Amnicola Highway from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to get health screenings. Health professionals will also be on hand for one-on-one consultations.

"The event is free and open to the public and will feature health screenings and exhibits from area health professionals. These services are offered for information purposes only and not intended to replace regular medical care," an event spokesperson explained.

Participants interested in some screenings will need to pre-register. Those screenings include lung and mammogram.

To register for CHI Memorial Mobile Lung Screenings, call 423-495-5864.

Women interested in having a mammogram screening will need to call 423-495-4040. There are also preregistration forms for the mammogram screening available online. Women will also need to bring a driver's license or picture ID and, if insured, an insurance card.

"If a [woman] is 35 years of age and uninsured, we can perform a baseline mammogram that is covered by Komen and private donations," a CHI Memorial spokesperson explained.

If you have unwanted drugs, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will take those off your hands during the event as well.
