WestRock will close its Kimball digital print facility next month.

Sixty-one people will be affected by the closure, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

The company has filed an official notice with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, notifying the agency of a permanent closure on May 27th.

The employees at the facility are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

WestRock sent Channel 3 the following statement about the closure:

"WestRock balances our commitment to delivering value to our customers with the need to maximize the efficiency of our manufacturing operations.  There is extra capacity in Chattanooga and, in order to remain competitive, the company is moving production to that facility. We are pleased that there will be opportunities for some employees to transfer to the Chattanooga facility."

WestRock said the facility in Kimball began operations in 1995 and was previously a RockTenn facility.
