Man in custody in Alabama after pursuit crosses state line
A man is in custody following a chase that crossed the Tennessee-Alabama state line Saturday afternoon.
Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett said deputies and other agencies were involved in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle from the Whitwell area around 1:30 pm CST.
The driver, identified by the Hollywood Police Department as Marlin Turner, took off and crossed from Marion County into Alabama.
Sheriff Burnett said law enforcement officers lost contact with Turner, but he finally crashed in Hollywood, Alabama, according to the Hollywood Police Department, at the intersection of Country Road 36 and County Road 412. He was then taken into custody.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the man was taken to an area hospital and will be taken to the Jackson County Jail once released.
Hollywood police said Turner faces charges of:
- Attempting to elude police
- Reckless endangerment
- Receiving stolen property first
- Illegal possession of prescription drugs
