Sunshine and heavy pollen counts Tuesday
After clouds this morning, it's shaping up to be a beautiful spring day! Winds will be light from the west under 10 mph, and temperatures stay 6 to 8 degrees below normal for April 2nd, in the low 60s. Today will be a great afternoon to be outside, working in the yard, or going for a walk/run. However, with sunny skies brings heavy pollen counts. That will be the case through Thursday before rain returns on Thursday night.
Wednesday looks picture perfect too! We'll start off Wednesday in the upper 40s, with temperatures reaching 70 in the afternoon. Thursday looks pleasant during the day. Showers and a few isolated thunderstorms will be possible late Thursday night. Forecast models have gone back and forth for when rain starts of west of Chattanooga.
It looks likely that rain will hold off still for the Lookout's Home Opener on Thursday, with rain increasing after midnight. Rain showers for Friday won't last all day either. Similar to last week, the rain showers look to end by 7AM-8AM or so east of I-75. Rainfall amounts for this period look to bring 0.25" to 0.75" by Friday morning.
The weekend looks interesting. We're tracking warm temperatures for Saturday and Sunday in the upper 70s. This could fuel some strong storms this weekend. At this time, Sunday afternoon and evening we'll be keeping an eye on the potential for strong storms. It is that time of year however, so please be aware that severe weather can develop.
