8yr old Neyland Pickel inspires with first pitch at TWU baseball game
Neyland Pickel may be battling cancer and only eight years old but he has a 15-year old fastball and he got to show it off during the ceremonial first pitch at a recent Tennessee Wesleyan baseball game.
Neyland was previously named an official member of the Bulldogs team. He's battling cancer for a third time but still finds time to hang out with his team and cheer them on.
He was invited to throw out the first pitch on Saturday where he was presented with a check to help with medical expenses by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.
In 2013 Neyland was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma and was declared cancer free in 2015. In 2016 Neyland was diagnosed with Leukemia but and was again declared cancer free, in 2017. In April of 2018 Leukemia came back and Neyland is still fighting today.
